Gulf Shores International Airport (GUF) is a 14 CFR Part 139 airport in Gulf Shores, AL, connecting the nation to Alabama's beaches along the Gulf Coast.

GUF is the second busiest airport in Alabama by operations, boasting over 20,000 visitors per year and annual economic activity of $40,000,000.

I served on the first iteration of the operations team, where I oversaw the opening of the commercial service terminal and the introduction of scheduled airline service at the airport. I ensured the airport complied with all pertinent FAA and TSA regulations, resulting in the successful passage of state and federal audits. Additionally, I drafted internal documents, including SOPs, SOGs, and employee handbooks, which contributed to the long-term effectiveness of the operations team.

One of my duties as an operations officer was to draft sections of the airport operations manual. The creation of these SOPs required a deep understanding of federal regulations and airport operations best practices. These SOPs will be referenced by GUF operations officers indefinitely as they fulfill their duties to the airport and larger Gulf Shores community.
